The Annual General Meeting of the TIA UK held at Wimbledon on Thursday attracted a record attendance of 24 representatives of the tennis industry, who unanimously approved a re-structuring of the trade body that will enable this to become a more effective entity in the years to come.

"The TIA has just undergone a major revamp that will improve communications and efficiency," said Ian Peacock, the TIA UK's President.

"New steering groups now offer all our members the opportunity to discuss their ideas and issues together and their representatives can take consensus to the Board of Directors on their behalves."

Judy Murray has announced she is actively seeking a development partner to accelerate her plan to develop a European-style community tennis club in Scotland.

Internationally recognised for her experience and expertise in identifying and developing tennis talent, Judy's model aims to create a modern community tennis club with an integrated junior academy at the heart of a comprehensive tennis development programme...

The administrative workload of the TIA UK has grown significantly over the past year or so and the Board of Directors recently resolved to secure assistance for the beleaguered Executive Administrator, Barbara Wancke.

Starting at the beginning of June, Gilly English is now assisting with a view to taking over the secretarial duties and so enabling Barbara to undertake more project and management-related duties.

The AEGON GB Davis Cup team will take on Poland in the Euro/Africa Group I relegation tie from 18th-20th September at the Echo Arena, Liverpool.

The tie will be played on an indoor hard court with an arena capacity of 4,000 to 5,000.

The All England Lawn Tennis Club has unveiled the new Centre Court retractable roof and Andre Agassi, Stefanie Graf, Tim Henman and Kim Clijsters will be the first players to play under the new structure in a celebration on Sunday 17 May when the air-management system, which plays a vital role in controlling and stabilising the internal environment within the bowl, is fully tested.
