Changes at the TIA UK approved by Membership at AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the TIA UK held at Wimbledon on Thursday attracted a record attendance of 24 representatives of the tennis industry, who unanimously approved a re-structuring of the trade body that will enable this to become a more effective entity in the years to come.

"The TIA has just undergone a major revamp that will improve communications and efficiency," said Ian Peacock, the TIA UK's President.

"New steering groups now offer all our members the opportunity to discuss their ideas and issues together and their representatives can take consensus to the Board of Directors on their behalves."

Sunbaba created tennis branding which dominated Devonshire Park for the AEGON International tennis tournament taking place in June and spectacular tennis windbreaks for the AEGON Championships at The Queen's Club.

Sunbaba supplied over 800 square meters of digitally printed Ultramesh for AEGON International, which is a combined men's and women's tournament.

Gilly English joins TIA UK Administration

The administrative workload of the TIA UK has grown significantly over the past year or so and the Board of Directors recently resolved to secure assistance for the beleaguered Executive Administrator, Barbara Wancke.

Starting at the beginning of June, Gilly English is now assisting with a view to taking over the secretarial duties and so enabling Barbara to undertake more project and management-related duties.

The All England Lawn Tennis Club has unveiled the new Centre Court retractable roof and Andre Agassi, Stefanie Graf, Tim Henman and Kim Clijsters will be the first players to play under the new structure in a celebration on Sunday 17 May when the air-management system, which plays a vital role in controlling and stabilising the internal environment within the bowl, is fully tested.
