Finally, our sport is getting a real consumer show!

London Tennis Show 2010 logoTennis is joining the successful Golf Show at the Excel from 30 April until 2 May, 2010 and all manner of products, services and activities will be there.

Between 30,000 - 40,000 visitors are expected over the three days and if you are a tennis club member, you can pre-register for free entry via http://www.londontennisshow.com/ prior to 17 April.

TIA UK Members receive preferential rates at the Tennis Show so if your company is a tennis business and you want to showcase it to the British public, you should join now!

Tennis Outlook launch!

The TIA UK's new trade journal for the promotion of tennis products and services was first published in December 2009.

Both MembeTennis Outlook launch issue coverrs and non-members can advertise in this newspaper, which contains news coverage and features on current industry issues, research findings, best practice reports from overseas, interviews with prominent figures, features on individual market segments, letters to the editor, and invitations to tender for tennis-related contracts as well as display advertising.

The The London Golf & Tennis Show 2010second issue of Tennis Outlook will be published to coincide with the London Golf & Tennis Show in April.

This edition will also include the show's catalogue of exhibitors and the floor plan so visitors receive the essential guide to the G&T.

Sony Ericsson extends partnership with WTA Tour

Sony Ericsson extends partnership with WTA Tour

Sony Ericsson is extending its existing partnership with the WTA Tour for a further two years in an agreement that will see the mobile phone manufacturers become the lead global sponsor for the Tour through to the end of 2012 but has cut the value the of the deal and lost competition naming rights, according to a Financial Times report.

The sponsorship package is still close to the value of the $88 million, six-year deal which comes to an end this year but leaves the WTA looking for a replacement title sponsor for its year-end championships. Sony Ericsson made a net loss of €836 million last year.

Wilson Sporting Goods is the latest major tennis brand to confirm their booking for the inaugural Tennis Show being run alongside the London Golf Show at ExCel the weekend of April 30 to May 2.

HP joins Davis Cup line-up of sponsorsHP, the world's largest technology company, has become an international sponsor of the International Tennis Federation's premier team competition, Davis Cup by BNP Paribas.

The four-year agreement, which sees HP become the Official Technology Sponsor of Davis Cup, begins this week with the opening round of the 2010 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas.

Within hours of the London Tennis Show's website going live, the tennis public has been quick to take advantage of the free ticket offer being extended to tennis club members.

The show, which will be open to visitors at the ExCel exhibition centre over the weekend of April 30 to May 2, has already attracted the major tennis brands - Prince, Babolat, Wilson, Head, K Swiss, Asics, Nike and Adidas - whose products will be available through the official retailer FitCo.

Wimbledon appoints new Commercial Director

The All England Club, home of the Wimbledon Championships, has announced the appointment of Mick Desmond as its new Commercial Director with effect from Tuesday 6 April 2010. 

This new role, reporting to Chief Executive Ian Ritchie, will combine the positions of the Director of Television and Director of Marketing. Former Director of Television, John Rowlinson, left in July 2009 to become Head of Broadcast at the London 2012 London Olympics Organising Committee.
