Phillip is the Managing Director of PSA Sport Limited and a Director of TrioPlus Limited.
Following an Arts Degree Phillip worked for Dunlop Sports Company as Assistant Tennis Promotions Manager and after various appointments in the squash, skiing and sports retail fields, he was asked to initiate a technical department within the LTA in 1984, which evolved into the highly respected LTA Facilities Division.
As Director of Facilities he initiated, directed and delivered the LTA's National Facility Strategy over a 10-year period that levered a capital investment of over £100m, for local, regional and national tennis facilities. This included the Indoor Tennis Initiative, a programme of 50+ community indoor tennis centres developed primarily in collaboration with local authorities. Phillip was also the Project Manager for the National Tennis Centre before leaving the LTA in 2001 to set up PSA Sport.
With others he formed TrioPlus Sport and Leisure consultancy in 2005 whose client list includes a number of governing bodies, Universities and local authorities.
Consultancy work in tennis includes a comprehensive audit and forward review of grass roots tennis and community tennis facilities; an Operational Plan for the National Tennis Centre; feasibility study and expert guidance for the Judy Murray Tennis Club; a Major Event Venue Study for London; a district wide tennis development plan for St Albans; feasibility studies for indoor tennis in Haslemere and Hillingdon and the development of a Facilities Strategy for Tennis Scotland.
He remains close and committed to the development of tennis at grass roots level.
"I feel that I can fully contribute to the work of the TIA and help deliver further collaboration with the LTA and the Tennis Foundation. A healthy tennis industry reflects growth in the sport so the TIA needs to play its full part".
