Tennis clubs sign up for new TIA member benefits scheme

TIA UK Court Membership was launched earlier this month and British tennis clubs have been racing to sign up to the scheme which offers business support, advice and a wide range of services including discounts on equipment to volunteer-run clubs.

“The Court Membership scheme will plug a gap that some clubs had identified, where they were not provided with support specific to their needs,” said TIA Business Development Manager Phil Sandilands.

TIA Court Membership costs £25 per court per annum. The first 100 courts to sign up will receive 12 months’ free access to software offered by Booking Pulse, which encompasses an online court booking system, course management and member communications package.

Members also receive advice from TIA UK preferred suppliers on legal matters, insurance, travel, meetings management and business development.

Clubs are entitled to a free health check by Thornton Sports, while Chiltern Sports offer member clubs guidance on court maintenance. Advice on procurement for indoor tennis and clubhouse development projects is available from Trio Plus Sport and Leisure. Harrod is offering Court Members a deal on purchases of tennis posts and nets.

TIA UK Court Members will also have access to the evolving TIA technical and research library and an exclusive member directory. Discounts are offered on events including the TIA UK Forums and the annual summit. The next TIA Forum takes place on October 28.

The membership scheme offers an opportunity for TIA businesses to market their goods and services directly to clubs. REBOwall is one of the innovative products offered at a discounted rate for TIA UK Court Members.

“I welcome the TIA’s court memberships benefits package as not only does it help TIA members to market their services, it is a cost effective way for a company like ours to tell clubs about discounts and offers and for clubs to benefit from special offers,” said Adrian Hutchins, REBOwall director. REBOwall are offering a 10% discount on any size walls ordered before January 1 2015.

“It is a win-win scheme for everyone involved in British tennis,” said Sandilands.
