Tennis Industry to boost its social media activity

The TIA UK today announced the appointment of its new Social Media Project Manager to help increase its profile and positioning through an effective social media presence.

Nicholas Smelt, a third-year undergraduate at the University of St Andrews has taken on an intern position to help grow the industry association. His role is to support the Executive team to promote the organisation to the tennis world through social media and be responsible for the day to day delivery of social media content to grow and enhance the TIA UK’s owned channels.

The key objectives of the role are to spark conversation and engagement within the platforms, increase traffic to the TIA UK website and build the organisation’s awareness in order to ultimately attract more companies and individuals into membership.

Nick has been involved in tennis for many years and as a player he represented GB as a junior at the Wheelchair Tennis World team Cup in 2014. For the past year he has been a member of the University’s Tennis Club Committee with responsibility for the outreach and community engagement activities, as well as acting as the Club’s Enhanced Tennis Ambassador which involves working with Tennis Scotland and the Tennis Foundation.

On his appointment to the TIA UK role, Nick said “I’m delighted to have taken on the role of Social Media Project Manager for the TIA UK and look forward to getting started! Working alongside the Executive team, my hope is to help the organsation grow throughout the year, ensuring that the TIA UK and its members receive as much exposure as possible.”

Whilst the focus of the work will be to raise the profile of the TIA UK, Nick will also be following and supporting the organisation’s own members social media platforms in order to share posts and increasing exposure to the wider UK tennis market.
