Hexa Sports supplies high quality British-made tennis equipment to schools, clubs and local authorities across the UK.

Named after the building in which the company was first formed, Hexagon Works, Hexa Sports Ltd is a small independent company situated in the West Midlands which has been selling tennis equipment for over 35 years.

Manufacturing tennis posts, nets and furniture as well as maintenance equipment, the company which has recently joined the Tennis Industry Association, supplies products for other sports including football, hockey, netball and cricket, but tennis represents its core market.

“We have supplied tennis posts in bulk to Australia, line markers to Saudi Arabia and cricket practice cages to the Cayman Islands,” says Hexa Sports director Charles Styles. “But the large majority – around 95% – of our business is with the UK market.

“And although we supply goods for many other sports, tennis is our main line of supply and accounts for well over half of our sales.”

From a single adjuster band costing a few pounds to orders for multiple sets of equipment for tennis court construction worth several thousand pounds, Hexa Sports manufactures most of its products in the UK.

“We are dedicated to the manufacture and sale of fine quality tennis court and sports ground equipment,” explains Styles. “Our aim is to introduce better quality equipment for tennis courts at affordable prices and many of our products are designed and manufactured in our factory in Birmingham. However where products are offered which are not suitable to our own facilities we source from British or European suppliers.

“Our posts are very popular because of the build quality and finish. Where size allows they are thermoplastic dip coated making them exceptionally durable. They are fitted with brass winders which we manufacture in house.”

Clubs, schools and local authorities make up the core of Hexa Sports’ market, but tennis court and sports ground contractors are also key customers. The company, which is a member of the Sport and Play Construction Association (SAPCA), also offers custom-made products.

“We are always looking for new products to manufacture especially where there is a market need or where we can re-design or improve quality to give the customer better value for money,” says Styles. “Our staff welcome enquiries from our customers and will help to cater for their needs and our skilled workforce can undertake manufacture of bespoke items to customers’ requirements.

“Products can be ordered online but items can be seen, collected and paid for at our reception in Birmingham.”
