Dr Stuart Miller, the Technical Director at the International Tennis Federation is planned to be the keynote speaker at the Tennis Industry Association UK 2015 Annual Summit, where innovation and evolution in tennis will be the theme.
Following from the success of the inaugural Tennis Summit earlier in 2014, the second forum will focus on how new technology creates a better experience for players and how the industry can help increase interest and participation in the sport.
Miller will provide an insight into the work of the ITF’s technical department in Roehampton and TIA members with appropriate products and services will be asked to contribute.
“It is important to have a theme that is outward looking,” said TIA UK Business Development Manager Phil Sandilands. “The sessions will illustrate the direction of travel being taken by manufacturers and the ITF and aims to provide examples of good practice that makes the sport more exciting, more inclusive and more sustainable.”
The 2015 event will attempt to build on the inaugural event held at the Olympic Park in April, when key stakeholders in the industry met to discuss the state of British tennis, with new Lawn Tennis Association chief executive Michael Downey a guest panellist.
John Bushell, the managing director of SPORTS MARKETING SURVEYS INC. kicked off the event with a presentation titled ‘Is British tennis fighting back?’ before a question and answer session.
As well as the keynote speaker and panel Q&A session, Sandilands hopes to incorporate short sessions with the opportunity to test new products and equipment from TIA members.
More speakers and topics will be announced in due course, and tickets will go on sale in early 2015. To register your interest enter your details in the form below.
