New category of membership approved by AGM

For the second year, the TIA UK’s AGM had to be held remotely with members voting via email. All motions were passed and the Notes will be forwarded to Members once approved.

The AGM approved the addition of a new category of membership to take account of the business difficulties encountered over the past year. The new Tier III  Industry Member will allow some current Tier II members to realign their membership in accordance with turnover and will negate the need for an Associate category brought in for new companies for an initial one-year period.

The new Tier III membership category will be open to companies with an annual turnover of less than £100,000 and will cost £200 plus VAT and it is believed that  this new category of membership will assist in recruiting new members into full membership of the Association. In addition, the Board agreed at its last meeting to keep fees the same for the fifth consecutive year in view of the difficulties faced by members and that full members will again be offered the option to pay fees in quarterly or monthly instalments to assist cash flow.

In this year’s elections, Chairman Steve Matthews and Company Secretary Jan Booth were re-elected for a two-year term of office – 2021-2023 together with the re-appointment of the following Board Directors for a one-year term:

  • Andy Burrell (Chiltern Sports Contractors)
  • David Carpenter (TrioPlus Ltd)
  • Justin Kraushar (Yonex UK)
  • Rob McCowen (SPORTS MARKETING SURVEYS INC)
